Sweet Briar College Career Services Makes Top 20 List

Best Colleges Online.com has named Sweet Briar one of “20 Colleges with the Best Career Services” in the U.S. Other colleges on the list include the University of Richmond, Pennsylvania State University and Yale.

Internships are a big part of Sweet Briar’s hands-on approach to learning. “Sweet Briar College’s career services department has consistently been ranked among the best in the nation and continues to offer a wealth of valuable, career-focused resources to students,” the website states.

“As soon as students enter the private women’s college, they’re encouraged to develop a four-year plan which will guide them through their studies, internships and career experience. Students, career services staff and faculty work together to help students develop not only the academic skills they need but also the professional ones, with support from internship programs, a strong alumni network and assistance with applying for jobs or graduate school.”

The College has been honored for excellence in career services before. From 2008-2011, the Princeton Review’s “Best Colleges” publication ranked Sweet Briar’s Career Services Center in the top 10 nationwide.

Best Colleges Online offers higher education news and advice to future and current college students through rankings, detailed college and career guides and articles. The online publication ranks institutions based on quantified data taken from authoritative and reliable sources, such as the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator tool, the U.S. Department of Education’s Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs and official college websites.
